Amsterdam Imaging Hub

The Amsterdam Imaging Hub was founded by researchers from AMOLF and Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI), later joined by colleagues from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). We work in many different domains across physics, materials science, and computer vision and are all united by a powerful common thread: reliance on imaging. We recognized that powerful imaging methods were being developed across all disciplines but often in isolation rather than being shared across fields.

We created this community to fix that gap.

Our goal is straightforward: connect people working with imaging across Amsterdam and enable real exchange and promotion of practical knowledge, tools, and expertise.

So far, we have organized three Imaging Symposia that brought together more than a hundred researchers from astronomy, computational imaging, physics, archaeology, materials science, medicine, biology, and electron microscopy. In addition, we organize hands-on tutorials and Imaging Lunches, fostering learning of the latest developments in the field and building new collaborations.
